The Russian Biotechnology Information Center (RuBIC) was created as a result of the long-term international scientific cooperation of the Institute of Bioengineering with the International service for the acquisition of agri-biotech applications.

RuBIC is a Russian hub of the international network for the dissemination of information about the achievements of agricultural biotechnology. The International service for the acquisition of agri-biotech applications (ISAAA) is a non-profit organization with an international network of centers, whose mission is to promote research and development in the field of agricultural biotechnology and global food security via exchange of knowledge and developments.

One of the main tasks of the RuBIC Information Center is to form a base of knowledge on agricultural biotechnology. The practical output is the development of informational, scientific and methodological materials on agricultural biotechnology and assessment of GMO biosafety.
